THE FARMERS

Greetings! My name is Jess, and I am the founder and farmer here at FloraQuest Farm. Originally from the Chicago area, I ventured down to Florida to earn my BS in Marine Biology. I developed an interest in organic farming and got my feet wet volunteering on a couple farms and taking a course in permaculture design.

After catching a case of wanderlust, I found myself in Northern California 15 years
ago. I have since experimented in growing everything under the sun, and the flower bug hit me like a sack of compost on the full moon autumnal equinox of 2018. I hit the ground running and haven’t looked back since!

I love to learn, experiment, and strive to leave the land in a healthier and more balanced state than I found it. I am a nature lover and nurturer, a mom, and a believer in the power of positivity!

Hi, I am Mary! I was born and raised in Hawaii which enriched my love for flora and fauna. May Day is an international holiday, and we spend days making leis in preparation. This is where my deep appreciation was rooted. We thank the trees when picking and it's a form of meditation to make lei. The celebration then begins - dance, music, and all the flowers!

After moving to California, I met Jess and was looking for an outlet to start making leis again and what a gift that has been! A few leis have been made, however, all the time in the garden learning more about seasons has sparked a new excitement in my heart. Learning alongside my friend is such an honor, and I am always excited to share our creations with our beautiful community of Mendocino.

My happy place is amongst the flowers with dirt on my hands, and it brings so much joy to my household to have fresh flower frequency coursing through our little cabin.
